A World Alone

snow

It’s Snowing today
And yet the world is black.
Emptiness, a void
Where love should be,
Where laughter could be.
Instead a sadness
That overwhelms my soul,
And the souls of millions.
A feeling of reaching out,
Trying to grasp the meaning
Of why we are here.

Life seems so tenuous now,
It will never be the same,
But we know it can’t be,
And shouldn’t be either.
For we are all reaping
What we have sown,
In this life or from others.
We are all parts of the horror
We now face,
And horrified, we see what
WE HAVE DONE!

There is no blame that can fix,
Only self-responsibility
Can change our future,
The future of millions, of our earth.
Time for each to take stock
Of our own actions,
What we have brought to the table,
What space are we in today,
And where will we go with it.
The polarities have come to the extreme points
Of choices, so all can see through
The illusion of complacency,
The illusion of the third dimension
And it’s TRAPPINGS!

Time to cut the strings of the puppet masters,
Time for all us to sing,
To love one another,
To honor and respect each one,
All ones, the earth, that is our mother,
The sky that is our roof and our life-giving sustenance,
The water that nourishes our blood
The food that gives us strength.
To respect and give thanks
To the animals, the birds, the fishes,
The insects, to rocks, trees and streams,
For the part they play in our lives.

For if we do not,
We will not be able to in a very short time,
We have had our chance
To do the dance,

The record has almost played.
